At Uplift Connections, we use information collected from our members online (via our website and social media platforms) to communicate with our members on a regular basis (i.e. daily and/or weekly and/or monthly) to inform them of the various programme initiatives, events, partner events, blogs, interviews, mentorships, internships / work placements, jobs and other opportunities related to professional development and supporting entrepreneurship that we offer to our members (in some cases on a complementary basis) that might be of benefit to them. We also collect information from our members via evaluation forms and surveys to get their feedback on our various services, programmes and initiatives in order to further develop and improve on our services, programmes and events.  We use this information to help us progress the work of our organisation. We take your privacy seriously and are open about the way in which data is collected and used. This Privacy Policy covers all services provided on our website and social media platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and You Tube). Please read the statement carefully to understand how we collect, use and protect your personal data.


This policy covers any data that we collect from visitors and users of our website (and any other third party websites we use for ticket sales e.g. Eventbrite, etc.) via the online membership forms, donation form and subscription to newsletter form that could be used to identify you as an individual. This will include information that we ask you to provide in order to provide you information about our programmes and initiatives– such as your email address, your name and your address and your telephone number. We also collect your information through registration forms online or at our events and initiatives.


Any information that you have provided us through filling of the registration forms online or at our past events provides us with explicit consent to continue your subscription to our newsletter, text/email or post reminders. You will remain on the subscription list until such time as you notify us to remove you. If you choose to use our online donate option or join as an Uplift Connection Premiere member, then your financial information is only provided and used by PayPal on an independent basis as the only means of payment available on our website. PayPal may collect additional information from you of a financial nature, including your credit card number and your billing address that you may choose not to provide. For those individuals, who would like to donate or become Uplift Connections premiere members but would not like to use “PayPal”, they can contact us at for alternative methods of payment such as bank transfer or cheque etc. We may run fundraising campaigns organised through other affiliate fundraising websites (e.g. Justgiving, etc.) and any additional information collected through those affiliates is governed by their respective privacy policies. We may also collect information about your visit to our website, including the pages you view, the links that you click on and other actions taken within our website that is governed by the “Cookies Policy” and you may choose to opt out of enabling “Cookies” if you wish to do so. We also collect certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your computer’s unique IP address.


We will use your personal data in order to provide information to you about our programmes and initiatives, invite you to our and our partner events and share information about mentorships, internships / work placements, jobs and other opportunities as well as membership information that you request (including sending our Uplift Connections Membership and benefits letter to you by post when you sign up to become a Premier member) and to fulfil your requests for information from us and to assist in the progressing of the work of our organisation. We may use your information to contact you from time to time about the organisation and to gather further information and feedback from you. We may also from time to time share information about events with our partners and affiliates, but we do not share or sell your personal information to any third parties without your explicit consent (please see section below for details).

You may request that we stop using your personal data in this way at any time by contacting us using the details below. However, please note if you withdraw your consent it may prevent us from keeping you up to date and offering our services to you.


Uplift Connections does not share, sell, trade, lease or rent your personal information to other parties without your express consent. Aside from the circumstances below we will not pass your data on to any other party. In the following circumstances we may disclose your information:

  • When you have given your explicit consent to share your data;

  • When we are required to disclose your data in order to provide any of the membership benefits to you that you have requested;
    When we are legally compelled to disclose to governmental authorities.

  • The only exception to this is if we are ever concerned that someone is a danger to themselves, or others, or we believe a child is at risk of harm.


We retain all data collected whilst you continue to actively be a member of Uplift Connections or until you request us to remove your details from our records.

All data held is protected using up to date industry standard procedures to keep it safe and secure and to prevent loss or unauthorised access.

Under Data Protection Legislation you also have the right to request copies of the information we hold about you. If you feel that any data we hold, handle or use is causing damage or distress or if you have any other complaints please contact us and we will endeavour to rectify the situation.
